Moderation @ Brave Bot:
Control and Safety of your server is paramount and should always be a top priority. Our Moderation Unit allows server admins and moderators to moderate their servers at ease alongside Discord’s built-in AutoMod system.
Quick Guides:
Channel Editing:
To edit a channel's name or topia you must have the following:
- Access to
/edit-channel. - Manage Channels Permission.
With /edit-channel you can edit the channel's topic and name.
Note
You may get an error message if you enter capital letters, certain special characters or if the channel name is very long.
Slowmode Guide:
To edit a channel's slowmode you must have the following:
- Access to
/slowmode. -
Manage Channels Permission.

To impose a slowmode restriction on a channel do
/slowmodeand select the time you want each user to wait before sending another message. - To remove a slowmode restriction simply run
/slowmodewith no argument selected.
Lockdown Guide:
To initiate or end a Lockdown of a channel you must have the following:
- Access to
/lockdown. - Manage Channels Permission.
If you have both of the above do /lockdown and select the channel you want locked. If you do not select a channel it will default to the channel you are already in.
Note
Brave Bot only disables the @everyone's permission to type and send messages in the selected channel.
Threads:
We have 2 Thread Management commands:
/thread-mod-
/thread-manage -
With
/thread-manageyou close or delete a thread. - With
/thread-modyou can add or remove users from a thread (you must be in a thread for this to work).
You need the Manage Threads permission to run these commands.
How to add/remove a user from a thread with /thread-mod?
- Select the User you want to add or remove to the Thread.
- Select weather you want to Add or Remove.
How to delete/close a thread with /thread-manage?
- Select the thread you want to close or delete.
- Select weather you want to
CloseorDeletethe Thread. - If successfully you should get a confirmation message.
There are also other tools for managing and moderating threads:
/warn- Give a Thread Warnings. (Moderation Unit)- Requires the
Moderate MembersPermission.
- Requires the
/create-thread- Create a Thread. (Utility Unit)
Nicknames:
If you need edit a member's nickname you can run /nickname (You need the Manage Nicknames permission).
- By not entering an argument the nickname will be removed the user's display name will be shown.
- If you or the user does not a have nickname and you do not enter an argument you encounter an error.
- By entering an argument while a nickname already exists, the nickname will be updated to the one you entered.
- By entering an argument while not nickname exists, the user will now have server nickname.

We recommend using Discord's AutoMod System to combat bad & ToS breaking User Profiles.
Voice Channel Moderation:
With /vc-mod you mute, defean, un-defean and un-mute users in VC. You need the Manage Server permission to run /vc-mod.
Note
To mute, defean, un-defean or un-mute the user must be in a VC.
Note
You can also right click on a user in VC to mute, defean, un-defean or un-mute them. You may need extra permissions to moderate this way.
GlobaLogs:
GlobaLogs is Brave Bot's logging system. Built mainly for the moderation unit. When of the following commands is run successfully, GlobaLogs logs it.
/kick/ban- You can mark bans as a ToS Violation Ban. This means the User has violated Discord's ToS.
/warn/massban/timeout/remove-timeout
Our system logs it in two places:
- Our Support Server
- Your server's system channel (if you have one set)
- You can edit which channel is your system channel via your server settings.
Warning Types:
For /warn you will see an optional but defaulted argument regarding "warning type". Warning Types are made to show users what will happen next if they break the rules again. The following warning types exist:
- Final Warning: A Warning that sends a signal to the user that this is their final chance.
- Ban Warning: A Warning that warns the user if they break the rules again they will be banned.
- Kick Warning: A Warning that warns the user if they break the rules again they will be kicked.
- Thread Warning: A Thread Warning is to tell users the conversation they are having is incorrect.
- Timeout Warning: A Warning that warns the user they breaks the rules again they will be timed-out.
- Normal Warning: A Normal Warning that sends a base/basic warning.
- VC Warning: A VC warning for a warn-able offense in a VC.
Note
The Normal Warning type is selected by default. You do not need to fill out the warning-type argument if you wish to keep it as a basic warning.
Restrictions
Moderation Restrictions:
- You can not warn Bots.
- You can not set a Slowmode time longer than 6 Hours. (6 hours is
21600Seconds) (This a restriction Discord put in place. We can not do anything about it.) - You can not Purge messages if they are over
14days old. (This a restriction Discord put in place. We can not do anything about it.) - You can not Timeout, Ban or Kick Users who are higher than you in the server's role hierarchy. You will get an error message.
- You can not purge more than
200messages at once. (This a restriction Discord put in place. We can not do anything about it.) - Usage limit also applies. Click Here to Learn More
Nickname & Username Restrictions:
- Names can contain most valid unicode characters. Discord limits some zero-width and non-rendering characters.
- Usernames must be between
2and32characters long. - Nicknames must be between
1and32characters long. - Names are sanitized and trimmed of leading, trailing and excessive internal whitespaces.
- Usernames cannot contain the following substrings:
@,#,:,```anddiscord. - Usernames cannot be:
